Lindsay

If there ever was an I am woman hear me roar, this is her! Lindsay is one of the strongest women I know, and I have known her for a while now. I was so excited to take some professional pictures of Lindsay since she moved to Charlotte to take a promotion at work. She takes care of her son T by herself while her husband who is in the military is in Connecticut. To top it all off she finds time to run in races all over the place! Talk about one strong woman!!!

Let’s just stop right here and take a look at the cutest 3 year old! He is such a ham and wanted to make sure he had some pictures taken too. Lesson learned, when a kid says they want you to take a picture, TAKE THE PICTURE! Look at this little model in action!

Ruff Family

I have know Jen and her kids for about a year now but this was my first chance to meet her husband Erik. When she asked me to take pictures of her family I was more than excited! We had a beautiful location picked out at the botanical gardens at UNCC BUT since the school is getting a football team this year and they have their first scrimmage on the same day we had to change. We ended up at a park not far from both our houses that worked out well.

The first thing Jen says when she gets out of the car is we brought entertainment and whips out the bubbles. This girl is a mind reader, and has lots of experience with kids! They are all dressed so cute and we wasted no time taking pictures! Ethan was such a ham and knew exactly how to work the camera! Ella was such a sweet girl and has the best giggle!

Keegan

Oh how I love to snuggle with babies, and I especially love chunkers! Christine introduced me to Keegan by handing him over and saying meet the Michelin man! This little cutie has a full head of hair and makes the cutest noises! He was telling me exactly how he wanted me to take his picture 🙂
What a little personality at only 9 weeks old!

Tim & Candice

This session was my first engagement session but it was the first one where I felt comfortable with myself as a photographer. I have a great mentor in this business and with each session my confidence blossoms. When I look at these pictures I am starting to get that WOW feeling that I get when I see Casey’s pictures. I am not even close to being on the same level as her but each time we meet up for a session I leave with a sense of accomplishment and I know I will get there one day. I can’t tell you how lucky I am to be able to spend time and learn from someone who knows EXACTLY how I feel and walk me through.

Tim and Candice are a beautiful couple and you can’t help but feel their love. They are one of those couples that seem like they have been married for years. There was a natural flow to the session and although I was only there for the 2nd part of their session I was able to capture some great moments.

Christina

Where do I begin to describe this session? It started with being locked in a restricted area while I was waiting for Casey and Christina to arrive. Luckily Casey honked her horn like a mad woman as I leaped out of my car like it was on fire to flag down a worker who said “huhu, you got locked in”. I responded “huhu, yeah I did….”. After a couple more laughs we got right to work working on head shots, lighting, and focal points. Christina did a great job making me comfortable ( and yes I know it should be the other way around) but she was laughing and goofy and JUST what I needed!

When we decided to move on to the train tracks I was really excited at the opportunity to get creative! I handed off my baby to Casey and started taking pictures !! We were getting some great shots and Tyler started to fuss but there as no way I was missing this opportunity so I held him and started shooting one handed. When I could no longer hold him I put him down and has he tasted the rocks I grabbed a couple pictures of him while Casey was taking pictures. Then Christina said “Oh great the cops” and I laughed THINKING SHE WAS KIDDING! Then she continued with “crap he turned on the lights” and I knew she was not. I continued to take a couple more pictures of Ty and then we made our way towards the cop. Oh how I was surprised when he informed us we could be arrested for trespassing and how dumb we were to park our cars on the side of the road (as opposed to parking them on the train tracks with us???) and then escorted us to our cars so we could give him our ID. As we are doing to the walk of shame while holding a baby in my arms the traffic in the park is creeping by so they can stare at the delinquent photography group. All in all, this was a fantastic photo session!

Chris and LeEllen

I must say that this was the perfect family for me to dip my toes into the world of photography. I was giddy at the chance to capture Chris and LeEllen’s experience of being pregnant and expecting their first baby. Since this was my first time taking pictures with Casey, I didn’t know what to expect. Would I be in the way? Would the family wonder why this weird girl was hiding behind their photographer like some crazy paparazzi? Would Casey get tired of ALL my questions? Let me tell you NONE of this happened! The family was funny, easy going and patient when Casey had to help me. I was actually worried all my pictures would be blurry because I was laughing so hard. Just imagine asking the couple to hold hands and kiss and then you hear the soon to be Grandpa teasing them by saying “Eww, Yuck”.
I am so thankful to Chris and LeEllen for letting me be a part of this special time in their lives.  I love how they are waiting until they see their sweet baby boy to pick his name! Maybe I will be here to help take those pictures too!
